Why learn with me
More than standing up and bending your elbows
Anyone can stand on a board in a lagoon. I teach the precise technique that lets you paddle distance, balance in the chop, read currents and stay safe when the weather turns — so you can paddle anywhere in the world.
Every class includes photos, video analysis and free advice afterwards on technique and where to paddle next. I’m ASI Level 1 & 2 certified (exposed waters), plus water rescue, first aid and CPR.
What my students can do after their first hour
Anyone can stand and paddle on flat, sheltered water. In the open sea you learn to paddle upwind, along the waves and downwind, read the current and handle sudden weather changes — around windsurfers, kayakers and boats. Learn it there and you can paddle anywhere in the world.
It takes about an hour to learn the basics and two hours to copy the movements — and, like any sport, a long time to master. If you'd like company while you build up distance, one-hour SUP trainings work on technique and mileage together.
Yes. Ages 4–6 ride on my board, and from 7 they get their own once I'm happy they're ready. For safety, kids' classes are kept to two children at East Coast Park.
Safety first: if it's stormy, too windy or too rough, we reschedule to a fine day — no money lost. I check the forecast beforehand so we don't waste a trip.
Yes — I run off-site small-group lessons, and skills trainings, including at Sentosa. I also host kids' SUP birthday parties with beach games.
